    Macán Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia nasce nel 2004 dalla collaborazione tra il Gruppo Tempos Vega Sicilia, di proprietà della famiglia Álvarez, e la Compañía Vinícola Barón Edmond de Rothschild con l'obiettivo di produrre vini di grande eleganza in Rioja. La cantina ha sede a Samaniego, una piccola città a circa 350 km a nord di Madrid. Dopo un lungo periodo di studi e ricerche sui terreni più adatti della zona, nel 2009 l'azienda Macán ha prodotto la prima annata dei suoi vini: Macán Clásico e Macán, presentato sul mercato nel 2013.

    La superficie viticola totale della bodega si estende oggi a 92 ettari, situati sulle pendici della Sierra Cantabria a nord dell'Ebro. Il fiume svolge un ruolo strategico perché la sua presenza mitiga le temperature della zona. Le uve Tempranillo per i vini sono selezionate da piccoli appezzamenti di vigneti, disposti su terrazze, costituiti da terreni argilloso-calcarei.

    Il Benjamin de Rothschild - Vega Sicilia Macan è un vino rosso elegante e vivace che si presenta nel bicchiere con un colore ciliegia. Al naso si percepisce una bella intensità di frutti di bosco, spezie dolci e cacao. Al palato è potente e intenso, complesso e rotondo. Da abbinare a Pata Negra, filetto di maiale, stufati di carne o agnello arrosto.
