Un compleanno da ricordare con DAOU & Colomé Festeggiare il compleanno di mia madre è stato reso ancora più speciale grazie a due vini incredibili: DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 e Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. Il protagonista della serata è stato senza dubbio il DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Fin dal primo sorso, ci ha avvolti nel suo abbraccio ricco e vellutato. I profondi sapori di frutta scura, le note di cacao e il rovere perfettamente bilanciato hanno fatto sì che ogni bicchiere sembrasse una vera indulgenza. È stato audace ma elegante, un vino che ha portato senza sforzo calore e gioia alla nostra riunione. Vedere mia madre assaporare ogni sorso con un sorriso lo ha reso ancora più memorabile. Anche il Colomé Auténtico Malbec si è rivelato un'ottima espressione del Malbec d'alta quota. Era potente, con more mature, spezie e un finale morbido e persistente: un eccellente complemento alla serata. Questi vini non hanno solo arricchito il nostro pasto, ma sono diventati parte della celebrazione, elevando ogni brindisi e conversazione. Un sentito ringraziamento a DAOU e Colomé per aver reso questa occasione speciale davvero indimenticabile!

    Helios è un'espressione robusta ma raffinata di Cabernet Sauvignon, raccolto nella regione di Coonawarra, nell'Australia meridionale. Inizia con un naso stratificato di prugna matura, cassis, liquirizia e quercia stagionata, rivelando una maggiore complessità man mano che respira. Si tratta di un vino fantastico per l'invecchiamento e senza dubbio beneficerà di altri anni in cantina.

    La storia vitivinicola di Penley Estate risale al 1844 e ai primi sforzi della stimata famiglia Penfold. Tuttavia, la tenuta stessa è stata fondata nel 1988 da Ang e Bec Tolley, eredi delle grandi case vinicole Tolley e Penfold. In cantina, si sono avvalsi delle competenze di Kate Goodman, una delle enologhe più interessanti d'Australia.

    Al palato, il carattere potente di Helios Cabernet Sauvignon si nasconde dietro un velo di tannini rotondi e setosi. Si apre con note concentrate di cassis, mora e mirtillo, accompagnate da sottili sentori di cedro, menta, cacao e caffè. Il finale è lungo e asciutto. Prima della commercializzazione, il vino ha trascorso 16 mesi di invecchiamento in rovere francese e 6 mesi in acciaio inox. Helios è ideale da abbinare a formaggi stagionati, agnello arrosto o una bistecca di alta qualità.
