    Situata a Healdsburg, nel cuore della Contea di Sonoma, Ramey Wine Cellars è stata fondata dal famoso enologo David Ramey e da sua moglie Carla. Iniziando nel 1996 con lo Chardonnay, Ramey ora produce anche Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir e Syrah, lavorando con i vigneti di Sonoma e Napa Valley e utilizzando tecniche di vinificazione del vecchio mondo. I loro vini, rinomati in tutto il mondo, hanno uno stile europeo con tutto il carattere fruttato tipico della California.

    Il vino è una miscela a maggioranza Syrah con un tocco di Viognier. Le uve provengono da Rodgers Creek Vineyard e Cole Creek Vineyard, situati sulla Sonoma Coast, rispettivamente su terreni di ghiaia vulcanica e di argilla limosa. Il Syrah e il Viognier vengono fermentati insieme in vasche con lieviti indigeni e il vino finito rimane sui lieviti per 18 mesi.

    Il vino ha un colore denso e un profilo aromatico intenso e ampio. Al naso, rivela note di ribes nero e prugna, lavanda e olive verdi, e alcune note balsamiche e di selvaggina. Al palato, è morbido e di medio corpo, con una freschezza equilibrata e una buona concentrazione di frutta. Ha tannini vellutati e un finale succoso e persistente. È versatile negli abbinamenti, ma i suoi partner ideali sono la carne rossa e la selvaggina.
