A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Una delle più giovani aziende vinicole della penisola croata di Peljesac, Saints Hills è stata fondata nel 2014 e ha sede in un'antica casa di pietra un po' fuori mano. Si tratta di una tenuta a conduzione familiare con vari parenti coinvolti in tutto, dalla preparazione di cibo squisito per i loro ospiti alla conduzione di tour della cantina.

    Mala Nevina è il loro squisito vino bianco prodotto con Malvasia istriana e Chardonnay proveniente dai vigneti di Sant'Ante situati vicino al villaggio di Radovani in Istria. Questi vigneti sono piantati sulle colline occidentali della penisola con rese strettamente limitate. Il terroir qui è ideale per produrre vini bianchi freschi e di carattere grazie alle fresche brezze marine e alle lunghe giornate di sole estive che aiutano le uve a raggiungere un buon equilibrio tra acidità e sapori di frutta matura.

    Frutta tropicale esotica, fiori di mandorlo e sentori di mare salato caratterizzano il naso, mentre il palato offre una freschezza da acquolina in bocca, molti sapori di frutta matura e un finale puro e pulito. Elegante e facile da bere, questo è un grande bianco da offrire come aperitivo o come partner di frutti di mare freschi, insalate, pesce alla griglia o anche sushi.
