Un compleanno da ricordare con DAOU & Colomé Festeggiare il compleanno di mia madre è stato reso ancora più speciale grazie a due vini incredibili: DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 e Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. Il protagonista della serata è stato senza dubbio il DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Fin dal primo sorso, ci ha avvolti nel suo abbraccio ricco e vellutato. I profondi sapori di frutta scura, le note di cacao e il rovere perfettamente bilanciato hanno fatto sì che ogni bicchiere sembrasse una vera indulgenza. È stato audace ma elegante, un vino che ha portato senza sforzo calore e gioia alla nostra riunione. Vedere mia madre assaporare ogni sorso con un sorriso lo ha reso ancora più memorabile. Anche il Colomé Auténtico Malbec si è rivelato un'ottima espressione del Malbec d'alta quota. Era potente, con more mature, spezie e un finale morbido e persistente: un eccellente complemento alla serata. Questi vini non hanno solo arricchito il nostro pasto, ma sono diventati parte della celebrazione, elevando ogni brindisi e conversazione. Un sentito ringraziamento a DAOU e Colomé per aver reso questa occasione speciale davvero indimenticabile!

    La storia di Silver Oak è iniziata nel 1970 con due amici, Ray Duncan e l'enologo Justin Meyer. Fin dall'inizio il duo aveva la visione di fare solo il Cabernet Sauvignon della migliore qualità, producendo la loro prima annata nel 1972 alla Christian Brothers Winery in cambio di uve Zinfandel che crescevano nella tenuta Silver Oak.

    Oggi Silver Oak è considerata una delle cantine più importanti di Napa grazie alla loro attenzione ai dettagli nella cantina e all'eccellente terroir della tenuta. Hanno persino la loro bottaia, The Oak, dove vengono prodotte le loro botti. Insieme al Cabernet, una piccola quantità di Merlot, Cabernet Franc e Petit Verdot viene aggiunta in questa cuvée per una maggiore complessità e finezza. Dopo la vinificazione il vino giovane invecchia per 24 mesi in botti di rovere americano, di cui l'84% sono botti nuove.

    L'alta percentuale di quercia nuova aggiunge intense note di cocco, vaniglia e cedro alle opulente note di cassis, mora e mirtillo. L'ingresso è morbido con tannini fermi ma ben arrotondati, un corpo pieno e generoso e un finale molto lungo. La profondità e l'intesità del sapore lo rendono un grande vino da conservare per un decennio o due, anche se può essere goduto anche ora insieme a piatti di carne sostanziosi.
