A Birthday to Remember with DAOU & Colomé Celebrating my mother’s birthday was made even more special thanks to two incredible wines—DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 and Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. The star of the evening was undoubtedly the DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. From the first sip, it enveloped us in its rich, velvety embrace. The deep dark fruit flavors, hints of cocoa, and perfectly balanced oak made every glass feel like a true indulgence. It was bold yet elegant, a wine that effortlessly brought warmth and joy to our gathering. Seeing my mother savor each sip with a smile made it all the more memorable. The Colomé Auténtico Malbec also delivered beautifully, with its pure expression of high-altitude Malbec. It was powerful, with ripe blackberries, spice, and a smooth, lingering finish—an excellent complement to the evening. These wines didn’t just enhance our meal; they became part of the celebration, elevating every toast and conversation. A heartfelt thank you to DAOU and Colomé for making this special occasion truly unforgettable!

    Un compleanno da ricordare con DAOU & Colomé Festeggiare il compleanno di mia madre è stato reso ancora più speciale grazie a due vini incredibili: DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon 2021 e Colomé Auténtico Malbec 2020. Il protagonista della serata è stato senza dubbio il DAOU Cabernet Sauvignon. Fin dal primo sorso, ci ha avvolti nel suo abbraccio ricco e vellutato. I profondi sapori di frutta scura, le note di cacao e il rovere perfettamente bilanciato hanno fatto sì che ogni bicchiere sembrasse una vera indulgenza. È stato audace ma elegante, un vino che ha portato senza sforzo calore e gioia alla nostra riunione. Vedere mia madre assaporare ogni sorso con un sorriso lo ha reso ancora più memorabile. Anche il Colomé Auténtico Malbec si è rivelato un'ottima espressione del Malbec d'alta quota. Era potente, con more mature, spezie e un finale morbido e persistente: un eccellente complemento alla serata. Questi vini non hanno solo arricchito il nostro pasto, ma sono diventati parte della celebrazione, elevando ogni brindisi e conversazione. Un sentito ringraziamento a DAOU e Colomé per aver reso questa occasione speciale davvero indimenticabile!

    Vinařství Vilafonté, založené v roce 1997 trojicí talentovaných vinařů, vyrábí jedny z nejkvalitnějších jihoafrických vín. Nachází se v pohoří Simonsberg, v apelaci, která si v dobré víně dělá nárok na slávu. Nachází se zde nejstarší půda na světě, která poskytuje starobylý základ pro hvězdnou révu.

    Hrozny Vilafonté pocházejí výhradně z vinic, které vlastní vinařství. Na počátku existence vinařství si vinař Zelma Long uvědomil, že z jejich vinic vznikají dva různé styly směsi Bordeaux - první byl velký a silný, což dalo vzniknout sérii M. Druhý byl hladší, šťavnatý a dobře zakulacený - to je série C.

    Série C je hravá směs, směs Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec a Cabernet Franc. Přestože je suché a plné, vykazuje ve svém profilu jisté náznaky sladkosti. Ve vůni se objevuje tmavé ovoce, cassis, černé třešně a švestky. V ústech se objeví podobné ovoce s hlubšími tóny cedru, lékořice a zeleného botanického okraje. Víno zrálo téměř dva roky ve francouzských dubových sudech a má dostatek času na další rozvoj v láhvi. Série C bude skvělou společností pro vzácnější ptáky, jako je kachna, nebo bohaté pokrmy na bázi rajčat.
