    Con sede a Hawke's Bay, Craggy Range è una cantina a conduzione familiare e uno dei veri pionieri e produttori più prestigiosi della Nuova Zelanda. È stata fondata nel 1999 dall'uomo d'affari Terry Peabody e dall'enologo Steve Smith MW. L'azienda possiede due cantine ad alta tecnologia: la Giants, ai piedi del Te Mata Peak (alias The Sleeping Giant), che funge da quartier generale, e un'altra grande struttura nelle Gimblett Gravels.

    Con vigneti sia nelle famose pianure alluvionali della sottoregione Gimblett Gravels di Hawkes Bay sia nella regione di Martinborough, dove si coltiva il Pinot Noir, Craggy Range produce una vasta gamma di vini di alta qualità da diverse varietà di uve.

    Il loro Pinot Noir Martinborough, coltivato sul fondo dell'Isola del Nord, sprigiona aromi di cannella, chiodi di garofano e note complesse di sottobosco e funghi, accompagnati da mirtilli rossi maturi, frutti di ribes rosso e un pizzico di viola. Il corpo di media struttura si intreccia con i tannini muscolosi e saporiti tipici di Martinborough. Nel finale, rivela note legnose ma nel complesso la frutta vince. Nel complesso è un vino molto elegante ed espressivo, con un buon potenziale di invecchiamento.
