    Fondata nel 2013 dalla coppia di coniugi Sophie Parker-Thomas MW e dall'enologo Matt Thomson, Blank Canvas è un'azienda vinicola situata nella regione vinicola di Marlborough, nell'Isola del Sud della Nuova Zelanda. L'azienda collabora con produttori locali di Marlborough, Hawke's Bay e Central Otago per produrre una selezione di vini da vigneto singolo (tra cui Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir e Syrah) che esprimono la moltitudine di terroir e microclimi dei vari vigneti.

    Le uve Chardonnay provengono dal vigneto Reed, piantato dal 2000 nella regione vinicola di Marlborough. Questo vino, considerato uno dei migliori Chardonnay neozelandesi, dimostra grande eleganza e versatilità gastronomica.

    Il colore è intenso e i profumi sono accattivanti. Al naso, il profilo gustativo è potente e rivela aromi di frutta a nocciolo e agrumi dolci con una delicata speziatura. L'affinamento in botti di rovere aggiunge note terziarie di spezie e un sottofondo di legno affumicato. In bocca, questo Chardonnay è pieno, complesso, rotondo ed equilibrato. Il sapore è una perfetta combinazione di frutta a nocciolo, pompelmo, mela cotta e spezie abbinate al rovere francese. L'acidità è vivace e il finale è lungo e piacevole. Si abbina magnificamente a piatti di carne di pollo e tacchino serviti con salse cremose o alla pasta alla carbonara.
