I buy from here from time to time as they have some favourite wines that it's difficult to source elsewhere. Acceptable prices and well packaged. My only reason for not giving five stars is that the delivery date never is the date given at check-out. Always a few days later. So take the delivery date with a pinch of salt.

L'azienda vinicola Capannelle si trova su 20 ettari di terreno nella regione di Gaiole, nel Chianti senese. Precedentemente di proprietà di Raffaele Rossetti, che acquistò una casa colonica del XVI secolo, la produzione dell'azienda iniziò nel 1974 e il primo Chianti fu commercializzato nel 1975. Dagli umili inizi, l'azienda è cresciuta fino a produrre uno Chardonnay IGT, un Solare IGT, un Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG e un rosso 50&50, un blend di Merlot e Sangiovese. L'idea del 50&50 è stata ispirata da un'eccezionale vendemmia del 1988 e presenta un Merlot prodotto da Avignonesi di Montepulciano, unendo il meglio di due mondi. La produzione di Capannelle va oltre il vino e produce 800 litri di olio extravergine di oliva all'anno.

L'implementazione di un approccio altamente tecnologico alla produzione del vino e un'attenta cura del clima di invecchiamento sono al centro dell'attenzione della cantina Capannelle. Vengono utilizzati tini di fermentazione in acciaio inox, oltre a tutte le tubature/valvole in acciaio inox, per garantire un ambiente igienico e contenuto e per evitare di alterare il profumo del vino. Il microclima è creato dal fatto che la barricaia si trova a 3 metri di profondità ed è climatizzata per garantire il giusto livello di temperatura e umidità. Il vino viene affinato in contenitori di legno, perfetti per i vini Chardonnay e Solare, e le barrique per il vino bianco vengono sostituite ogni anno, mentre quelle per il vino rosso ogni due anni.
