    Storia

    Il conte Stephan von Neipperg, proprietario di alcune importanti tenute di Bordeaux come Chateau Canon La Gaffeliere e La Mondotte, si è innamorato dell'incantevole Valle della Bessa in Bulgaria ed è diventato uno dei pionieri della regione per i vini in stile bordolese. La tenuta è benedetta da un eccezionale terreno argilloso-calcareo e dall'influenza rinfrescante delle vicine Montagne Rodopi e del fiume Maritsa, che contribuiscono a moderare le calde temperature estive.

    In totale la proprietà ha 140 acri coltivati a vigneto con Merlot, Syrah e alcuni altri vitigni chiave di Bordeaux. Questo Cabernet deciso è un'ottima introduzione al tipico stile della casa, con molta esuberanza abbinata a eleganza ed equilibrio. Dopo la vinificazione, il vino giovane viene affinato in botti di rovere francese per un anno per aggiungere ulteriore complessità e lucentezza.

    La Valle di Bessa si trova su 250 ettari, di cui 140 sono già stati piantati.

    Il progetto è iniziato nel 2001 con l'acquisto di terreni da circa 800 persone nella zona del villaggio di Ognianovo (regione di Pazardzhik).

    Per sostenere le viti vengono utilizzati solo bastoni di acacia.

    La cantina ha una superficie di 3 555 m3 e una capacità di 2 500 barili. L'azienda Bessa Valley Winery utilizza esclusivamente botti di rovere francese - barriques. Ogni barrique costa circa 570 euro e viene utilizzata solo tre volte. Dopo il terzo utilizzo, le barrique smettono di influenzare l'invecchiamento del vino.

    La fermentazione alcolica e la macerazione avvengono per circa 30 giorni.
